I've just finished John Peels biography, Margrave of the Marshes.
It was very inspring to know that despite being stuck in a nowhere jobs that is mind-numbing and soul crushing you can get out to live a life with a job you love.
Obviousley this is just one interpration I have taken but it has certainly spurred me on. In the way John has inspired muscians through the decades.
So much so I have compiled a play list I think (or hope) John would like,
Tell me what you think:
Brendan Benson: Between Us
Beatles: Proabably 'You mother should know' (not decided).
Racenteurs: Steady as she goes (acoustic)
White Stripes: I just don't know what to do with myself
The Fall: Kick the can
Artiic Monkeys: Where the Sun goes down
Ulysses Siren: Lake of Fire
Blur: This is a low
The Feeling: Sewn
The Phillistines: Bang bang you're dead
Squeeze: Who's that?
Meet Puppets: Lake of Fire
Matisyahu: Youth
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Free Bird
Lonnie Donegan: Rock Island Line
blur: No distance left to run
Ordinaray Boys: Life will be the Death of me
The Clash: Rudie Can't Fail
The Clash: London Calling
Lady Soverign and the Ordinary Boys: 9 - 5
Silver Apples: I Have Known love
Obviousley some of this was directly influenced by the book (Loonie Donegan- Rock Island Line: although to be fair its a great track). I've tried to create a flow through it mind! See if you can work it out.
All thoughts on it would be great!
